In 1987 John Wood, a Sydney architect, saved a classic Australian homestead from demolition - for a mere $1000. Three years later, John and his wife Helen finally managed to have the house moved to their 1500 acre property in NSW. Since then, they have restored the homestead to its former glory and now live there permanently.
